The Warrant is dated 4th April 1879 and the petitioners were Jack Sutcliffe, Hermann William Hitzen, William Walker, George William Goddard, Edwin James Brockway, Walter Shephard, Alfred Wykes, Frederick Watson, Richard John Ward, William Watkins, Charles John Hayward, George May Lowe, Alfred Kirk and Henry Edward Tumour. Four of the petitioners were from De Furnival Preceptory No 66 in Sheffield and the other three from Temple Bruer Preceptory 143.
The consecration was carried out by the Most Eminent Pro Grand Master, The Earl of Euston KCT on 19th July 1910 at the Yarborough Hotel, Grimsby at 3.30pm.
E Kt Herman William Hitzen was installed as the First Preceptor, Kt G W Goddard as First Constable and Kt J E Brockway as Second Constable.
On Thursday 15 May, the Provincial Prior, R.E. Knight Malcolm Bilton, accompanied by his Sub-Prior, V.E. Knight Timothy Kelsey and the Provincial Officers, visited Sutcliffe Preceptory at Grimsby. The evening was more especial by the attendance of the Past Provincial Prior, R.E. Knight Gordon Walkley Smith and his Sub-Prior, V.E. Knight Carroll Preston who now unfortunately attends his mother Preceptory infrequently due a life changing illness. Everyone present was delighted to see Carroll looking so well. It is a fact, that while Carroll finds it difficult to recognise people or communicate with them, it was clearly evident from the expressions on his face, he really enjoyed the evening.
